by Mark Rowe

The Biometrics Institute has launched its 2013 Industry Survey asking members and stakeholders to provide input on the status and future developments of the biometrics industry.

In its fourth year, this survey assesses trends and developments in the biometrics industry. The results will provide some projections and expectations for the performance of the industry in the coming year and show areas for development and research.

The survey can be accessed at the following website .

The survey is being circulated to all members of the Biometrics Institute and other key stakeholders and will be repeated on an annual basis. Members of the Biometrics Institute will receive a free copy of the full report through the website at www.biometricsinstitute.org , others can request an executive summary.

Isabelle Moeller, Chief Executive of the Biometrics Institute , says: “Over 200 biometric industry representatives responded to last year’s Industry Survey, and predicted the adoption of biometrics in everyday life as the most significant development during 2012-13.”

Other questions of the survey provide insight into new developments, future applications, potential market restraints as well as what biometric systems are expected to create most of the sales. Some initial results will be released at the upcoming Biometrics Technology Showcase Europe on the 27 June 2013 in London .
