RF-Touch Intruder Keypad

by Mark Rowe

HKC have added to their range of RF (radio frequency) products. A wireless Touch RF Keypad comes with proximity reader for prox tag arming and disarming. This means that the company’s intruder keypad will be available in wired and wireless versions.

The keypad features a capacitive touch screen and graphical display. The touch screen “wakes up” when it senses a hand coming towards the keypad. It can also sense where on the keypad the user presses the display, providing touch accuracy. The touch screen is sensitive, meaning your customers will only have to press it lightly to use it, the makers say.

As with HKC’s other wireless devices, it doesn’t need any cables, meaning the installer can set it up anywhere in a customer’s property. This product isn’t limited to residential, the firm says. This RF Keypad will join the firm’s RF range, providing usability with the SW 10270 and Quantum 70 products.

As for installation, the installer can use HKC’s Engineers App to complete maintenance and diagnostics remotely, further reducing site visits.

Designed to blend into modern interiors, the keypad has a contemporary profile and slimline feel. It comes in white and black and with a range of coloured trims. The keypad can be customised with a grey, chrome, white, or black trim (trims are available in packs of five). The wired version is already on the market, in use in homes and commercial properties. Talking of Quantum, the company has also upgraded its Quantum Pack, which comes with a range of features and additional devices. The Pack now includes HKC’s Q70 with on-board WiFi, integrated siren and keypad, and external siren base.

Also new is a GSM-WiFiU Universal Communicator for use with non-HKC equipment and legacy HKC systems. This device offers dual-path IP connectivity via cloud-based SecureComm. The GSM-WiFiU Universal Communicator uses GPRS and WiFi to deliver signalling up to Dual-Path Grade 3 (SP3/DP2). The product works off 12v or 24v so is suitable for fire alarm ARC monitoring, the developers add.

And a RF Relay Box is designed for use with wireless outputs such as remote arming-disarming, for use with CCTV, access control, and gate controller equipment. The RF Relay Box facilitates connection to third-party devices such as gates, lights and heating.
