Redcare third-party certification

by Mark Rowe

Redcare, the alarm signalling product company that’s part of telecoms multi-national BT, reports new third-party certification to LPS 1277 3.0.

LPS 1277 is a third-party certification scheme, recognised and endorsed by insurers for Alarm Transmission Systems (ATS). The quality assurance scheme is administered by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) of BRE Global, who are an independent approval body. Richard Underwood, Technical Specialist – Security at Aviva said: “Aviva recognises the benefits of using products and services that have been independently assessed as meeting a suitable level of performance. Companies that achieve LPCB approval to LPS 1277 3.0 demonstrate a clear commitment to providing quality ATS products and services and, given the importance of an ATS to the overall security and reliability of an intruder alarm system, such products represent our preferred option.”

And Tim Stylianides, Senior Risk Control Surveyor for Allianz Commercial added: “As insurers, independent testing of intruder alarm signalling such as that provided by LPS 1277 3.0 helps give us confidence in the performance of a product. An Enhanced ATS 5 compliant dual path signalling solution is our favoured option for commercial risks.”

Andy Fyvie said: “We’ve worked really hard to achieve this certification and I know that it will give the BT Redcare brand, already well known and respected in the market place even more credibility. It’s great news that Insurers can now specify, Installers can now install and users can gain peace of mind from products that meet the most rigorous standards.” The products that have gained certification are:

· Redcare GSM Roaming
· Redcare Classic
· Redcare Classic for Fire
· Redcare Secure IP
· Redcare Secure 3
· Redcare Secure Solo
