At IFSEC 2016, OPTEX will giving live demonstrations of its latest sensing products on stand E600.
OPTEX will show how its product portfolio provides 360-degree detection. For residential and commercial applications, visitors to the stand will be shown how wireless outdoor beams, PIRS and dual tech sensors can be added to wireless alarm panels providing early warning, and how a new compact laser sensor protects assets by creating a virtual shield. For high-end critical infrastructure applications, a combination of CPNI-approved fibre optic perimeter detection, laser scanners and 3D thermal sensors that provide all-round intrusion detection will be demonstrated.
OPTEX has also been working with video analytics provider IPS, to develop a ‘double knock’ solution for outdoor detection forwarding event triggers to CCTV systems. Both physical and video based detections use different sensing technologies, which complement each other and, when combined, reduce false alarms even in harsh environments.
Ricky Miwa, Managing Director of OPTEX, EMEA Headquarters, says: “Outdoor detection is subject to different variables including bad weather, lighting conditions and wildlife. Confirming an alarm by using complementary physical sensing and video analytics makes the intrusion detection system easier to manage and monitor.”
Integration is a key theme of OPTEX’s stand with dedicated areas for specific technologies: delegates will see the 360-degree detection sensors integrated with a Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software; and a live piggybacking detection system will be fitted in an airlock to prevent unauthorised access.
Ricky Miwa adds: “By integrating its intrusion detection sensors with wider solutions such as PSIM and access control, OPTEX can show delegates how sensors are used as a trigger for an event-driven security system, and how important that trigger is for the reliability of the overall system.” Visit http://www.optex-europe.com.
