IFSEC update: February 2015

by Mark Rowe

Organisers of the security show write:

This year there is one word that is going to be on everyone’s lips at IFSEC International and that is innovation. The big names keep on rolling in with Mobotix and Geoquip confirming their attendance this month along with 29 other companies who have also confirmed their place at the show. New for 2015 is The Innovation Arena, dedicated to everything new that is bringing real value to the sector. The Innovation Arena will showcase the latest technologies and solutions that are truly shaking up the industry and providing tangible benefits to those working across the security and fire industries.

On the theme of innovation and the latest technologies to come to market, the second new theatre to launch at IFSEC International in 2015 is the Technologies Theatre. Hosting a full programme of educational content around the key themes including IP Security, BIM and wireless alarm and surveillance systems, among others, the new theatre promises to assist with purchasing decisions, keeping the industry fully informed on the latest advances within these functions.

Also, Safe Cites, which launched in 2014, returns with an exclusive partnership with Euralarm who will run their own dedicated half-day conference and interactive webinar called Smart Cities: Safer & Secure. That will explore how those responsible for protecting key assets can obtain the tools to ensure smart cities remain safe and secure. The webinar in April will provide a great preview on what you can expect at the event in June.

The innovation will not stop there; this year IFSEC International is looking for all those innovators within the industry to come forward, make themselves heard and get seen at the event. If you or your company are doing anything that is leading the way and innovating then do get in touch with the organisers, this is your opportunity to shine at the security event.

Have your say

This year IFSEC is looking for your ideas to create the perfect show, who would you like to hear speaking at the event? Are you looking for an inspirational talk from the likes of Sir Chris Hoy MBE, Karren Brady or Sir Ranulph Fiennes or would you prefer to hear from Tim Berners-Lee, the ‘man who invented the web’.
