Hochiki Europe at Firex

by Mark Rowe

Hochiki Europe will be exhibiting at Firex International at its new venue, the ExCeL in London, with a new larger stand, with more products on display than ever.

The company will be showing a working preview of its FIREscape+ emergency lighting. This integrates addressable fire detection and emergency lighting to provide what the makers term an intelligent way-finding solution for evacuating buildings. A traditional emergency lighting system does not allow signs to be ‘shut off’, which can direct people into the path of danger. The firm says FIREscape+ addresses this by identifying where in the building the fire is taking place and communicates the safest route.

Visitors to the stand will also see working examples of both EN and UL approved fire control panels that make up the HFP fire detection system offering. HFP uses Hochiki’s Enhanced Systems Protocol (ESP), a communication language which is the makers say practically noise-immune, negating false alarms. The HFP range includes the company’s latest smoke sensors which feature the company’s High Performance Chamber Technology. The design of the optical chamber in these products minimises the differences in sensitivity experienced in flaming and smouldering fires, helping reduce false alarms, it is claimed.

Besides analogue addressable and conventional systems, Hochiki offers products for more specialised sites, such as its marine, intrinsically safe and explosion-proof ranges, which are also compatible with the HFP system.

An informal networking event will run on the Hochiki stand on Wednesday, June 18, between 5pm and 6.30pm; refreshments will be provided.
