ECHO-ready supplier

RISCO Group UK, a manufacturer and distributor of cloud-based security systems, reports that it’s attained ECHO-ready supplier status.

ECHO (Electronic Call Handling Operations) was developed with the security trade association BSIA, the NSI inspectorate, and the fire sector bodies FIA and FSA, combining call handling systems into one nationally recognised effective police response to emergency alarms. The initiative partners with ECHO-ready suppliers that offer products compliant with PD 6662:2017 and the British Standard BS 8243, which when installed by an approved installer is designed to ensure police response will be summoned via the ECHO platform to attend properties.

The latest on ECHO was aired by NSI chief Richard Jenkins at the ST22 Birmingham conference as part of the first Security TWENTY event of the year yesterday; which came two years after Richard spoke on ECHO, at the last pre-covid ST event, in February 2020, at the same venue. More in the April print edition of Professional Security magazine.

Recently appointed RISCO UK Managing Director, Mark Taylor, pictured, said: “As part of the team which launched the ECHO initiative, I immediately see the synergies of RISCO’s product and service solutions with the ECHO platform. As RISCO delivers, high quality and reliable security products for installations in both the residential and commercial markets, our ‘ECHO-ready supplier’ status shows our intent to continue to work in partnership with the most innovative and progressive industry groups to deliver the most fit-for-purpose solutions for installers and end-users alike.”

And Martin Harvey, ECHO Board Director said: “It’s great to welcome RISCO on-board as an ECHO-ready supplier. In doing so RISCO is providing additional reassurance to customers that their products are ECHO-ready, and meet standards required by the police. When installed and maintained by NSI and SSAIB approved installers in ECHO-connected police force areas, approved alarm systems using ECHO-ready products secure the fastest possible police response.”
