American Fibertek, the US supplier of transmission products for security applications, is featuring at IFSEC 2012 a full line-up of network and fibre transmission products to complement IP-based security systems.

Visitors to the stand C60 will be among the first in Europe to see a demonstration of the Pilot software platform.  Pilot is a complete management software platform for video, audio, data, environmental sensors and network switches. It supports 1,100-plus IP devices from over 40 manufacturers and when combined with video codecs the Pilot software can easily be integrated with users’ existing DVRs. It can therefore help extend the life of an existing video surveillance system, whilst providing the opportunity for the installation of the latest generation of IP devices.

In addition to video management, Pilot software fully supports American Fibertek’s hardware transmission products. Designed specifically to meet the requirements of mission critical security applications and offered with lifetime warrantees, these include the Commander switch, which has eight fast Ethernet and two gigE copper/fibre ports. Commander incorporates video analytics and supports email alerts and TCP/IP messaging.

Other company hardware supported by the Pilot software includes Net I/O for transmitting alarm contacts, auxiliary outputs and data across networks and Scout which monitors temperature, airflow and humidity of individual devices, racks, wiring and rooms.

American Fibertek has been a provider of video transmission in the US for over 25 years with a list of clients which includes the FBI, Boeing, BP, Cisco Systems, DOW, Chicago O’Hare, San Diego and Seattle airports and Universal Studios. Its products have also been specified for projects around the world, including the Port of Singapore, UK Ministry of Defence and the Canadian Mounted Police.

“We have opened an office in the UK as part of our commitment to have an increased presence in Europe.  We also now have locally based stock in order that we can quickly respond to customer demand,” said Ray Sooley, VP of Sales for American Fibertek. “The timing could not be better with demand for hybrid and IP/network based security solutions growing rapidly. With our Pilot video management software platform and our hardware products, which have been designed specifically for the demands of mission critical security applications, we are ideally placed to help installers and system integrators generate new business opportunities, whilst providing their clients with reliable and robust video transmission solutions.”

Visitors to IFSEC 2012, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham 14-17 May, will find American Fibertek on the Winsted stand No: C60 in Hall 5.
