Upgrade for integration with ANPR

by Mark Rowe

Nortech Control Systems Limited has announced another software upgrade for the Norpass3 (v3.3) access control product. It offers integration with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and communication through a Wi-Fi network. Norpass3 helps control each area of premises, and offers a range of user-selectable features.

A new features of the v3.3 upgrade is its integration with ANPR. Previously, users would have to use a separate module to convert number plate code into a number, and then manually enter this number into Norpass3. However, now this is done within Norpass3, so there is no need for extra software. Norpass3 converts the number plate into a 26-bit Wiegand card number and creates a corresponding user record.

Amer Hafiz, Technical Director, Nortech, said: “These enhancements are once again a great example of how Nortech responds to customer feedback. The upgrade reflects our continued commitment to fulfil Nortech’s vision by ensuring utmost practicality and robustness of our products.”

The new upgrade makes Norpass3 the only free access control software of its type that is fully integrated with ANPR camera, the developers say.

The v3.3 version also features improved and strong communication through Wi-Fi. In case if there are any problems with the Wi-Fi network, the software will automatically try to re-establish the connection with the network.

Amer Hafiz said: “With the latest communication upgrade, users no longer have to worry about leaving their desks, in fear of losing control over their session because of the weak Wi-Fi network. Norpass3 v3.3 provides robust communication and runs solidly even with weak or unstable Wi-Fi connection.”

Norpass3 v3.3 is a free access control management software, offering such features as a full range of door setups operation, report creation, and more. It supports a range of technologies ranging from biometrics to vehicle identification. Installers who want to download NorPass3 v3.3 can do so from the ‘Downloads’ section of nortechaccesscontrol.com. Non-registered installers can also contact the company for a free copy of the software on CD. Visit www.nortechcontrol.com.
