Technical director

Nortech Control Systems has appointed Amer Hafiz as Technical Director. Amer, who joined Nortech in January 2012, gained a First Class Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Wales, Cardiff. He also won the industry ‘IEE’ award for best performance in the final year. Before joining Nortech, Amer held senior positions in the engineering departments of Sony, and Panasonic.

Stephen Blackler, Managing Director of Nortech said: “Amer has had a major impact on the research and development department since he took over as the manager and we are now especially pleased to make him a Director of the company.”

And Amer, pictured, said: “I am absolutely delighted to take on the role of Technical Director. I am proud to be an integral part of a multi-discipline team turning visions into reality, as we develop a range of next generation people and vehicle access control solutions.”
