Access Control

Systems for software firm

by Mark Rowe

Access Group, a business management software firm, has more than 7000 UK users. As the company has moved into multi-site operations it selected Amthal Fire & Security to maintain fire and security systems, including the integration of access control security to ensure certification to ISO27001:2013 by ISOQAR to UKAS standard.

Pascale Genevois, FM Manager at Access Group says: “Access Group has been recognised as one of the top five fastest growing UK software developers in the Sunday Times Buyout Track 100. And at present we have an in-house team of over 800 employees, supported by a dedicated management team, and spread over 16 locations. As well as ensuring the safety and security of all staff and visitors, from an ISO compliance perspective, we have to be able to provide an audit trail of who is at each of our offices, and know exactly where they have been with relation to management and security of assets.

“We turned to Amthal who has been our fire and security partner of choice for a number of years. The team seamlessly implemented an access control solution throughout our UK wide offices enabling staff and visitors to carry ID cards at all times, whilst back at base and at customer sites. This means we can now reassure customers and clients that ISO recommendations have been acutely followed.”

The ISO 27000 family of standards is for managing information assets securely. Access Group has assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to the Group by third parties.

Paul Rosenthal, Sales Director for Amthal adds: “Like other ISO standards, certification to ISO27001:2013 is not obligatory. Compliance shows Access Group to be a responsible company that chooses to follow Best Practice guidance. By choosing to work with one provider in Amthal Fire & Security, as we understand the systems in place and grow with Access Group, we can integrate solutions such as Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarms that will work with existing solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to everyday operations.”
