Software development team

The access manufacturer TDSi has a new Software Test Engineer. Neil Smiley is an associate employed by Bournemouth University and will be assisting TDSi via the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme.

John Davies, Managing Director of TDSi said: “We are delighted to welcome Neil to the team – TDSi is expanding rapidly both in terms of business and staff numbers, so it’s an exciting time to be joining us. The expansion of our software team is crucial as it is a key ingredient for most modern security systems, even those which deploy physical security solutions. Many of TDSi’s key products are now software based and provide the vital connections between security systems to provide overall integrated security.”

As for KTP, John Davies added: “Part of the remit of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is to work with businesses and universities, placing associates to work on challenging high profile projects in the real world. Much like apprenticeships it is a win-win result for both the associate and the businesses involved. The associate has a chance to demonstrate and use their training and expertise whilst the business gains an individual with the best education and ideas, along with the enthusiasm to offer fresh ideas and approaches.”

Neil’s role will involve establishing and creating new automatic test and validation systems within TDSi, as well as the task of developing a knowledge learning database for problem solving and customer support. Visit www.tdsi.co.uk
