The access control product manufacturer STid was among winners at the Security Trophies 2016. A panel of 17 judges, including security directors from Airbus, EDF, Schneider Electric, Renault, IKEA, La Poste and Prosegur, as well as the presidents of professional organizations such as SVDI, CEFSI, FFMI, GPMSE and CDSE, chose STid and its STid Mobile ID product from 17 other entrants.

The Security Trophies are an annual highlight in the security field in France. More than 1000 working in the sector attended the ceremony and discussed the issues facing access control.

On Monday, September 26, STid Mobile ID won the Smart Access Control category of France’s Trophées de la Sécurité (Security Trophies), at the Grand Théâtre de Paris. This access product by installing access credentials on mobile devices such as smartphones, complements or replaces traditional RFID cards.

The company said that its abilities to develop intuitive, secure and open solutions were the main factors behind this win. According to a member of the award panel, “this solution is so easy to use, it takes the difficulty out of access control (…) it represents a real revolution in the access control field”.

The user can now open a door by placing his or her hand close to the access control reader. Maé Tholoniat, Security Product Manager, says: “This action initializes the communication with the smartphone which will grant the access, even if the device is in standby mode or in a phone call. It’s quite simple, ergonomics and unencumbered.”

STid also offers offline and online architectures for businesses, governments and industries which can manage autonomously and independently the security on their premises. Maé Tholoniat adds: “The Online application makes it possible to transfer instantly and safely a virtual card to a remote user – visitor, new collaborator – on an Android phone or iPhone.”

Vincent Dupart, the CEO of STid, says: “our STid Mobile ID® solution leverages the benefits of smartphones to create a unique user experience based on intuitive and innovative identification methods that do not compromise user safety. This new award reflects our ability to keep on innovating and to design well suited solutions for users and Security Directors real needs.”
