Lab website

by Mark Rowe

ASSA ABLOY has launched an updated website for its UKAS accredited performance testing laboratory.

Created to tell designers and manufacturers about the services the Test Lab can offer, www.assaabloy.co.uk/en/local/uk/Products/Testlaboratory is a reference point on the independent testing.

The website features sections on the types of clients and testing procedures, including accredited testing, developmental testing and modification testing serviced by the laboratory, as well as information on its experience, accreditation and guarantee promise.

Featuring downloadable literature, the new website is designed to highlight the test lab’s facilities, which are not only used by all group brands and products but are also accessible to all customers’ working on various products and projects. Ian Bridge, Chief Engineer and Test Lab Manager, said: “The new website is a great showcase for the kind of work the lab undertakes. In addition, it is integral to demonstrating the depth and breadth of projects and testing carried out by our industry experts. The site is easy to navigate and I hope it encourages customers to take advantage of the experienced, unbiased and bespoke testing solutions the Test Lab can provide”

With over 30 years experience, the test lab employs a range of bespoke and exclusively developed testing methods to assess the performance and integrity of security and hardware products.

Among others, the lab tests to BSEN, BS and PAS accreditations for door sets, locks, door furniture and hardware to be applied in a variety of market sectors, including residential and commercial facilities. In addition, detention locking can be tested to ASTM, NIJ and other industry recognised standards methods.

The Test Lab reports to UKAS accredited standards and offers over 160 individual testing criteria across 13 product categories. Reports and sample photography are supplied to all clients.
