Access Control

International offices

STid, the French maker of RFID products for security and industrial tracking and tracing, has opened two new subsidiaries in England and Australia.

The company already has a Mexican subsidiary for sales in Latin America and the USA. Pierre-Antoine Larrera de Morel, STid Sales and Marketing Director, says: “One of the keys to our success is our closeness to clients and our speed in responding to customer needs. (…) The success of our subsidiary in Mexico City and the international enthusiasm for our innovations have underlined the need to structure our network in order to strengthen our brand abroad.”

In January 2014, STid opened UK and Australian offices in Warwick and Melbourne respectively. Vincent Dupart, STid Chief Executive, says: “The international network that we are building is part of our export growth strategy, our way of staying close to our clients, better understanding their local and sector issues and supporting them as they go after new markets.”

At the Expoprotection 2014 trade fair in Paris, in November 2014, STid was awarded the Innovation Trophy for its Architect range of access control readers.

A panel of 13 selected the range from among a dozen entrants. The readers are based on a common RFID core to which various interchangeable modules can be connected, such as badge readers, keyboards, touch screens and biometric devices. Maé Tholoniat, STid Product Manager, says: “This modular approach is simple, economical and puts the keys to access security into the client’s own hands.”

STid adds that it’s the only RFID manufacturer to have been awarded First Level Security Certification (ANSSI). Architect readers are built on the latest MIFARE DESFire and LEGIC Advant technologies and also include an accelerometer-based tamper detector. This not only informs the system of tampering but can also be used to delete confidential data stored in the reader. The makers offer a choice of logos, multi-colored LEDs, coloured casings and designs such as brushed aluminum or leather.

Vincent Dupart adds: “Architect is a truly revolutionary solution, born out of our philosophy of permanent innovation and by bringing together the three expectations of the integrators, installers, distributors and users that we work with – dependability, scalability and simplicity.”
