Access Control

Contactless lock

by Mark Rowe

The security and safety products manufacturer Ingersoll Rand (IR) introduces CISA eSIGNO, the latest in its access control solutions designed for the hospitality industry. The product will be premiered at IFSEC in Birmingham, May 13 to 16, 2013.

The new CISA eSIGNO Contactless Lock, with its compact Italian design, requires no wiring or invasive work on the door for installation on new projects or upgrading of an existing system. The system can also be easily integrated with previously installed CISA contactless locks.

The new lock is opened by holding the card up to the reader using contactless technology, which IR says minimises wear and tear. The CISA eSIGNO is also available in a wireless battery powered version which offers the possibility of control over the system from a central station even in the event of a power failure.

Also part of the range is the new CISA eSIGNO Outdoor Electronic Cylinder which offers hospitality users a way to upgrade from mechanically operated locks to electronic access. The cylinder can be installed in to doors of any material and meets standards of conventional DIN Euro profile locks thus ensuring integration in new and existing buildings.

The battery powered cylinder requires no wiring upon installation and is available in dual electronic lever or single cylinder versions as well as an IP66 version for outdoor installs.

Paul Taylor, UK Sales Leader EAC of Ingersoll Rand, said: “The new CISA eSIGNO range has been designed to provide installers with unique advantages over others available in the market. Not only are they pleasing from an aesthetic point of view, but being battery powered makes installation quick and easy. We’re pleased to be premiering the extended range at IFSEC which is the largest event in the security industry calendar. This exhibition is the ideal platform to demonstrate to installers the innovative technology used throughout the new range.”
