Access Control

ASSA ABLOY at AUCSO

by Mark Rowe

At the AUCSO annual conference at Durham University on Wednesday and Thursday, April 10 and 11, ASSA ABLOY is on stand 22, where the door opening product firm will showcase its latest access control systems and new products.

On display will be the Aperio wireless lock, which is designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them online or offline to new or existing access control systems.

Visitors to the ASSA ABLOY stand will be able to experience the cylinder and escutcheon variants in the Aperio™ range, alongside the advanced new L100 platform, which presents the world’s first wireless lock range for security doors with monitoring capability.

Alongside Aperio, ASSA ABLOY will also be showcasing Smartair, an all in one solution designed as a bolt on to upgrade mechanical to access control. Codehandle is another option showcased, designed exclusively as a keyless locking device for internal doors.

ASSA ABLOY will also present the ASSA 8761 nightlatch, suitable for use on emergency exits when complemented with exit device accessories. Also suitable for fire-rated doors, the durable lockcase with steel latchbolt is for use on high voltage or power supply rooms within universities.

Also on display from ASSA ABLOY will be its ASSA range of modular locks, alongside its ASSA ABLOY DC200A and DC500A door closers. The cam-motion DC500A has already been specified at universities.

Says David Wigglesworth of ASSA ABLOY: “Developing and growing our product offering for target market sectors is always a priority for ASSA ABLOY. And university accommodation is no different.

“At a time when student accommodation has become a high ranking factor in a student’s decision to attend university, their security is a critical component. ASSA ABLOY is best placed to advise those responsible for delivering safe accommodation, attending exhibitions such as AUCSO to demonstrate how our product portfolio can achieve these objectives cost effectively and with minimal disruption to university daily operations.”
