The emerald touch screen terminal was awarded 2014 Security’s Best Award in the ASIS Accolades Awards, during the US-based security management association’s annual exhibition in the States.

ASIS Accolades is an awards competition fore security industry products and services. emerald, from CEM Systems, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, is described as an intelligent multi-functional IP access terminal. The product is a touch screen reader, door controller, Voice over IP intercom and system terminal. The touch screen LCD is said to be the first of its kind to ‘greet’ card holders by illuminating as they approach. Users thanks to remote apps at the device can update personnel records, book meeting rooms, and send messages to card holders such as wrong door, lost or stolen card, expiring card and access granted. The product also acts as an information point by displaying general company information, advertisements and audible prompts to enhance user experience.
