Access version with intercom

CEM Systems, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, has released AC2000 v.7. That’s the latest version of the AC2000 access control system. Offered are intercom, online card validation support, and additions to AC2000 WEB.

George Martinez, Senior Product Manager, Tyco Security Products, said: “AC2000 is renowned as one of the most reliable and comprehensive access control systems. AC2000 v.7 reinforces this status by offering our customers enhanced features and functionality while continuing to provide flexible access control solutions that help to increase security, aid business efficiency and support operational effectiveness. The latest release provides enhanced functionality across our entire AC2000 suite, including our Airport and Lite versions.”

As for emerald, CEM’s touch screen reader and controller, with built in Voice over IP (VoIP) intercom, it now offers at the door configurable personal messages, displayed to cardholders as they swipe their card on the terminal.

New as part of v7, AC2000 intercom software can now be deployed as a standalone installation on dedicated intercom workstations where full AC2000 system is not required. The Voice over IP (VoIP) intercom provided with emerald, allows calls to be initiated from the AC2000 workstation to one or more emerald terminals. This is the product makers say a way to have intercom communication between operators and emerald terminals.

Another new software feature in AC2000 validates cards on the AC2000 using any online reader which simplifies personnel enrolment.

A range of new AC2000 WEB applications now supports day to day security operations via a standard web browser. These include applications to acknowledge and cancel alarms in one operation, manage zones and a way to configure third party interfaces.

AC2000 offers more integrations including a two way integration with Salto offline locks using SHIP (Salto Host Interface Protocol), a fully featured interface to Genetec Security Center, and a Permaconn Interface which enables Contact ID alarm messages from CEM AC2000 to be passed to Permaconn’s Central Monitoring Station.
