Access Control

Access software

TDSi has launched EXgarde 4.1, the latest version of its access control software. Among the additions to the new version, 4.1 offers full integration with TDSi’s VUgarde2 IP CCTV software, which is able to display live feeds from cameras, tag events for video playback, search recordings by date and time and offers video verification – alerting the operator to an event with pop-up live video.

EXgarde 4.1 adds integration with VUgarde2 as Managing Director of TDSi, John Davies, said: “This opens up further possibilities with regards to fully integrating access control with IP CCTV and other security systems. Operators can easily access live camera feeds, tag events that might be of interest later or take advice on pre-defined actions for any incident. Being able to make the most of existing security and access control investments is vital for any cost-conscious organisation but EXgarde 4.1 also adds extra functions that tighten security and make investigation much easier and less time consuming.”

The EXgarde 4.1 PC access control software application combines an intuitive graphical user interface with the integration capabilities. It supports multiple doors as standard, with the option to extend this with an unlimited door licence. It is compatible with 32-bit/64-bit Microsoft Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows server 2003/2008, and supports numerous communication methods including TCP/IP, dial-up and GSM modems. EXgarde 4.1 also features integration with Texecom’s Premier and Premier Elite range of intruder alarms; Microsoft’s Active Directory; and Milestone’s video management software.

For a combined building management solution, EXgarde 4.1 is ideally mated with the VUgarde2 Video Management System (VMS), which offers CCTV and video management and accepts a myriad of camera feeds and formats (such as MJPEG, MPEG4 and H.264 as well as HD and megapixel video streams from IP cameras, encoders and video capture boards). VUgarde2 has a number of built in wizards to reduce installation and commissioning times and is available in two editions (Express and Pro) to suit the project requirements. VUgarde2 also features a built-in user management system that provides user authentication, multi-level auditing and group based permissions to limit access to permitted personnel.
