TSA contract

by Mark Rowe

The French defence and security product company Morpho (Safran), through its subsidiary Morpho Detection, has announced its third-consecutive Integrated Logistics Service (ILS) contract from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the United States, for maintenance of its hold baggage explosives detection systems (EDS).

Valued up to $221m over three years, Morpho Detection was selected for this contract after two previous ILS contracts first awarded in 2005. This sole source contract covers acquisition of Performance Based Logistics (PBL) services including preventive, corrective and excepted maintenance actions on TSA’s fleet of Morpho CTX EDS.

Karen Bomba, president and CEO, Morpho Detection, said: “Morpho is honored to continue our decades-long work helping TSA achieve their high standard for system maintenance and performance. Morpho has made significant investments in recent years to deliver the highest level of service reliability, while aggressively managing costs for our customers. This contract is a reflection of these efforts.”

In addition to CTX EDS, this contract covers all service requirements for Morpho’s MUX™ multiplexing networks and software to enable central station and airport-wide networking. Visit www.morphodetection.com.
