Tangier Med Port contract

A new contract with the Tangier Med Port Authority and Tangier Med Special Agency to deliver security at what is said to be the largest secure site in Morocco, has gone to G4S.

The three-year contract, worth about £10m in total turnover, will see the multi-national security company protect the port’s assets, commodities and people through services including operational and technical security focusing on passenger and freight screening.

G4S will employ over 300 specially qualified security personnel at the port.

The Tangier Med port about 40 km east of Tangier, a cargo and passenger port, by capacity, is one of the largest on the Mediterranean and in Africa with a five million containers, six million passengers and 500,000 trucks moving through it annually.
