Private equity funding

Drum Cussac, the British-based intelligence services and security risk management firm, has announced new investment from UK private equity fund, Root Capital.  

Root Capital has set aside up to £7m of its £25m fund to invest in Drum Cussac, which is based in Poole and London. The investment will be used to further develop Drum Cussac’s intelligence, technology and response (ITR) offerings.

Andrew Littlejohns, CEO, said: “Our ITR solutions, and in particular our risk management platform, are unmatched in the market and this is why we have signed up so many major customers in the last two to three years. This investment from Root Capital will enable us to innovate further, extending our intelligence and technology capabilities, and providing customers with even better systems to meet their global security risk needs.”

Root Capital specialises in the technology, business and professional services sectors. Simon Philips, Root Capital’s Managing Partner, will become Chairman of Drum Cussac. Philips said: “Drum Cussac is a business with fascinating potential and a fantastic management team.
