The critical event management and communications product company, Everbridge Inc has announced a multi-year agreement with Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC). The OAMC’s Muscat International Airport uses Everbridge’s Critical Event Management platform for its communications in the result of an incident or emergency. Everbridge says that its software replaces previous time-consuming, manual call-out procedures to notify key stakeholders during a critical event.
With the new platform, the airport has alert notifications that reflect the existing 12 emergency codes of the airport emergency plan. These codes allow the Master Control Center of the airport and the Airport Emergency Services to categorise incidents and pre-determine which recipients should be told via mobile app, SMS, voice message or email in a major incident, automating a previously manual process. This allows OAMC to meet its regulatory requirements to notify emergency services, airport operation teams, key government departments and airlines and ground handlers servicing the airport, while reaching more responders in a fraction of the time of the legacy system, the software firm says.

We are also in initial discussions with Everbridge about adopting this technology at Salalah International Airport and our other regional airports as well.”
