Charity cycle ride

by Mark Rowe

Team GJD completed the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride on Sunday, July 9, to help raise money for The Christie Charity. The Christie’s Manchester to Blackpool bike ride is the charity’s largest cycling event and draws over 6,000 cyclists.

Team GJD from the Manchester-based detection product company was (pictured left to right) Andrew Dale, Paul Tibbenham and Greg Stuttle. To date they have raised £375. The money will be used to carry out more research and give more people treatment and care – and save more lives.

Greg Stuttle, GJD’s Business Development Manager said afterwards: “It was a brilliant event and the atmosphere was fantastic. Although it was a tough challenge, it was extremely rewarding and we will be taking part next year.”

The event started from the Imperial War Museum on Salford Quays and took in 60 miles from Manchester, along scenic country lanes of Lancashire and finished on the South Promenade. GJD crossed the finish line in a time of four hours and ten minutes.
