Airport Security expo

Among speakers from the UK at a two-day conference in London on airport security are the former head of security at Virgin Atlantic, Andy Blackwell, now a consultant; Fiona Hill, head of security compliance and training at Heathrow Airport (over 3,500 Security Officers and Security Managers pass through Heathrow’s training annually for refresher and induction training); Peter Woodroofe, head of passenger operations at Gatwick Airport (an expanded role from Head of Security); consultant Sally Leivesley; Steve Hodges, UK Systems Sales Manager, Dallmeier; and the travel journalist Simon Calder.

From the regulator the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), speakers are Peter Kirk, head of security; and Peter Drissell, appointed by the authority as its first Director of Aviation Security.

Other speakers include Gerry Lutterrell, head of airport security planning and performance management for Dublin Airport Authority; and Wilfred Covent, Head of Security at Brussels Airport, who’s also Vice-Chairman of the ACI-Europe Security Committee.
