Stagecoach contract

by Mark Rowe

The UK bus and coach operator Stagecoach has extended its contract with Synectics to supply, install and maintain CCTV on the Group’s fleet of 8500 vehicles in Europe.

This continues Stagecoach’s 13-year relationship with the security product company. In the last three-year period, Synectics equipped 1660 new vehicles with on-board CCTV and maintained systems across a growing fleet.

The extended agreement will see Synectics continue to support the bus operator for another year, up to March 2017, and will cover system installations on new vehicles.

Sam Greer, Stagecoach Bus Regional Director, said: “The Synectics team understands our needs, how we work, and we have had a successful working relationship with them for many years. We’re pleased to have them on board again to deliver a CCTV system that uses advanced technology and provides reliability and a good standard of equipment for our regional operating companies.”

Stagecoach has been using CCTV on its vehicles since the early 1990s. This contract covers vehicles operating in London, across the UK and in Europe, ranging from single and double-deckers on local routes across Britain to coaches for the Group’s European megabus.com operations.

Jeff Fail, Managing Director at Synectics’ Mobile Systems division, said: “We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Stagecoach. We appreciate the trust they place in us and the importance of meeting their business needs, providing a consistent, effective, and reliable service. And we can also help by anticipating future innovations and emerging technology where they would add value to Stagecoach. We’re looking forward to continuing this successful partnership.” Visit www.synecticsmobile.com.
