Training base

by Mark Rowe

OpenView Security Solutions, the security, fire, electrical and mechanical installer, has opened a new, purpose-built technical Training Academy at its Romford-based head office. The privately owned firm will use it to cross-train engineers and extend its apprenticeship programme. It will also enable the company to retrain former police and services personnel, giving them industry skills.

Mark Ingleson, Group Managing Director at OpenView Group said: “The industry is experiencing a major shortage in the number of engineers with the skills to deliver high quality engineering and compliance testing services. With over 300 field operatives, OpenView has made a significant investment in this new technical training facility which will enable us to gear up to handle the largest contracts whilst demonstrating our commitment to building the industry.”

The base has classrooms for compliance testing, installation and support skills to be taught via practical sessions, for a range of electrical, fire and CCTV products; besides ‘soft’ skills such as customer communications. Visit www.openviewgroup.com.
