Trainers hosted

by Mark Rowe

The Danish Institute of Fire & Security (DBI), based in Copenhagen, applied to the EU for funding to send two groups of ten security trainers to the UK in a partnership with Skills for Security (SfS), the skills and standards setting body for the security sector. The aim; to show security training here in the UK and share best practices.

The second visit ran a week during June (the first visited in March 2013). Among the visitors were representatives from the Danish Security Parliament, installation companies and end users, including the Head of Investigations for the Danish Institute of Fire and Security. All are involved in security training and were keen to see the UK at work.

Trainers were welcomed by the organisations below who kindly gave their time and expertise. SfS thanks go to all involved from:-

•Worcester Fire Station
•G4S and Her Majesty’s Prison, Birmingham
•Asset Protection and Brindley Place, Birmingham
•The Fire Protection Association, Moreton in Marsh
•Cooper Security, Mitcheldean
•Tavcom Training, Hampshire
•Broadlands Guards and Kingston-upon-Thames Council CCTV Control Room
•Nova Security, Abington

Dudley’s Coaches of Worcester again were shuttling everyone around for the week and keeping everyone on time.
