Surveyor partner

by Mark Rowe

Facilities Management 2016, the UK’s event focusing on the large scale and multi-site facilities industry, has announced a new partnership with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

RICS is the professional body for the land, property and construction sectors, accrediting over 118,000 worldwide. Many of these are within facilities management. Indeed the body is the only organisation to offer a chartered qualification in Facilities Management. RICS educates, regulates and promotes the profession.

As well as exhibiting at the show from March 22 to 24 at the Birmingham NEC, RICS will be speaking as part of the redesigned seminars. It will provide an snapshot of some of the lessons learnt from its strategic FM case studies. This will include an introduction from Kath Fontana, chair of the RICS FM Professional Group and Dennis Markey, member of the RICS FM Professional Group.

Paul Bagust, Director of UK Commercial Property Professional Group at RICS says: “It is the first time RICS has been part of Facilities Management 2016 and we are thrilled to be a supporter. Facilities management needs to have a place at the heart of an organisation as it has a strategic role to play in the experience of the end user of buildings and facilities, and ultimately the success of the organisations operating from them. This seminar programme is a perfect fit for RICS to demonstrate how FM can achieve real strategic alignment with other parts of an organisation to add value.”

Daniel Gray, Facilities Management Event Manager says: “We are extremely pleased to be partnering with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. The society’s aims and audience are completely in line with ours and we hope to provide a truly educational and professional experience for all in attendance. Such partnerships really help us to ensure we are providing quality content and conversation on the showfloor.”

Facilities Management 2016 will include educational workshops, an exhibition and fantastic networking opportunities. The show will be co-located with two others, Maintec and the Health and Safety Event.
