Scots seminar

How safe is your business? is the question posed by the organisers of a security awareness seminar on Wednesday morning, June 24, in Scotland. They 8.30am to 11.30am event runs at West Lothian College, Business Partnership Centre, Livingston, EH54 7EP in association with Servoca Secure Solutions, Police Scotland and Retailers Against Crime. On offer is free advice on how to keep your business safe.

Retailers Against Crime will provide an overview of the anti-shop theft member body’s work on reducing crime through partnership working, plus highlight various crime prevention advice and footage of actual events. The police’s presentation will cover:

• Types of ‘insider’
• Types of ‘insider’ activity
• Motivation of the criminal
• Potential impact on business as a result of ‘insider’ activity
• The Stay Safe guidance — covers the action(s) to take if someone is unfortunate enough to be caught up in an attack involving a firearm or other lethal weapon
