SASIG date

The insider threat is the subject for the SASIG spring event on Friday, May 8, hosted by BT in London EC1A. Briefly, Security Awareness Special Interest Group (SASIG) is a quarterly networking forum.

After an host introduction and welcome from Mark Hughes, President BT Security, the opening presentation is by Michael Brennan, Head of Government Security Secretariat, Cabinet Office. Giles Smith will follow. As Deputy Director – Cyber Security and Resilience, Digital Economy Unit, at BIS (Department for Business, Innovation & Skills) he will go over Government and industry initiatives to improve cybersecurity skills in the workforce and to satisfy future demands.

will offer a case study on the background, outcome and next steps associated with a recent security awareness survey

Other speakers are Gareth Carrigan, Head of Information Security Policy, Education and Awareness, Lloyds Banking Group; David Emm, Principal Security Researcher, Global Research & Analysis Team, Kaspersky Lab; Craig Baldwin, Group Head of Cyber Risk, Barclays; and Tom Ilube, CEO, Crossword Cybersecurity.

A facilitated discussion on “The Insider Threat – is it the enemy or friend within?” will close the day.
