NSI Summit

by Mark Rowe

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) has unveiled the conference programme for the NSI Summit, supported by IFSEC International. It’s running on Thursday, March 21, at The Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham. This year’s Summit will be supported by Gold Sponsors BT Redcare and CSL and Theatre sponsor, Texecom, among others.

The free to attend conference and exhibition is open to all approved companies and industry stakeholders including the police and insurers who form an integral part of the national infrastructure protecting householders, business owners, organisations and the community at large.

The day will have three distinct seminar streams of Security Services, Fire Safety and Electronic Security. Of particular interest will be those highlighting the latest changes to standards and approval criteria. These are notably NCP 104 (Issue 3) for CCTV design, installation and management, PD 6662:2017 for intruder alarm design, installation and maintenance, the new requirements for the SIA ACS workbook, and NSI and BAFE’s new commercial Kitchen Fire Protection Systems scheme (SP 206).

Companies can also find out about the likely impacts on fire risk assessors of the Hackitt review into the Grenfell Fire, and Implementation Plan, the benefits of conducting routine security penetration testing to ensure security integrity and the need to assess risks in supply chains to show due diligence and to report processes in the Modern Slavery Statement – the NSI Summit has something to offer every security and fire professional.

Besides the programme an exhibition will run with international brands to local suppliers who will be able to share the latest products, equipment, technologies and services in UK security and fire safety.

John Ware, General Manager, BT Redcare, said: “BT Redcare is again thrilled to be a Gold Sponsor at the NSI Summit. We’ll be showcasing our latest Next Generation portfolio – from the affordable to the powerful, that covers all levels of risk. Plus updating on the industry transformation to All IP for monitored fire alarms and the potential impact on businesses. We’re delighted to be a key part of the NSI Summit, bringing together the UK’s professional security and fire providers.”

Rob Evans, Sales Director, CSL said: “CSL is delighted to be a headline sponsor of the NSI Summit, for the 6th year in a row. It’s a must attend event in the Fire & Security calendar. Visit us on the day to catch up with the team and find out more about the brand new DualCom Pro range with Dual 4G SIMs and Dual Radio.”

Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive added: “We would like to thank all of our sponsors and exhibitors without whom the NSI Summit wouldn’t be possible. With standards, technology and economic developments providing numerous challenges and opportunities it is more important than ever for professionals within our sector to keep abreast of these changes and consider how they can be applied for the benefit of communities at large. As the UK’s leading UKAS accredited Certification Body within the security and fire sector, NSI is dedicated to raising standards and we look forward to delivering an educational experience for all delegates and exhibitors whatever their areas of expertise and interest.”
