NSI seminars on business licensing

by Mark Rowe

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) recently announced it will be accepting applications for business licensing from April 2014. To help organisations gain a greater understanding of the SIA’s requirements and the impact business licensing will have on the services organisations currently provide, the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) is holding two complimentary half-day seminars at its headquarters in Maidenhead on February 26.

The inspectorate says that the seminars will be of interest to those working in the relevant licensable sectors; and will include presentations from industry. There will also be an chance for attendees to ask questions related to their organisations’ circumstances. To be included within the seminar:

•The fundamental requirements of business licensing
•How to demonstrate competence to gain a business licence
•The penalties for operating without a business licence
•Timeframes and why it is important to act quickly

Kay Aitkin, NSI Services Delivery Director says: “It is vital for organisations providing licensable activities to be prepared for business licensing. NSI understands the impact this will have and through our seminar we aim to educate and prepare organisations for this fundamental change.”

Those wishing to attend should book on line at www.nsi.org.uk/our-services/our-schemes/new-business-licensing/ or contact Daniel Offley, NSI Sales and Marketing Executive on 01628 764849, [email protected]
