MoU signed by NSI, FSA, ECA

by Mark Rowe

The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) the Fire and Security Association (FSA) and the UK certification body for the security and fire sectors, the National Security Inspectorate (NSI), have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

ECA and FSA members will be eligible for discounts on NSI initial certification fees and courses, while NSI-approved companies who apply for FSA or ECA membership will receive a discount on their first year’s subscription fee. The MoU was signed during IFSEC 2015, the security exhibition in London, and will take effect from July 1, 2015.

FSA Chairman Pat Allen, pictured, says: “We’ve worked together on a number of issues over the years, so formalising this relationship in this way was a natural move. This is a crucial time for the electrical, fire and security industries and this agreement will mean we are able to combine our expertise for the good of the industry and allow our respective members access to the others’ offerings at a reduced rate.”

And Richard Jenkins, Chief Executive of NSI, says: “The ECA, FSA and NSI are committed to improving industry standards, ensuring clients receive the highest quality service from their contractors and helping businesses evolve and grow, so it seems fitting to put this agreement together now. This should help firms of all sizes have access to the services and support they need.”
