Mobile devices guide

A security awareness consultancy, The Security Company, is highlighting a recent warning from the Information Commissioner’s Office that a lack of guidance over the use of mobile devices in the workplace could lead to serious security breaches.

The growing popularity of “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) schemes carries with it a responsibility for both employers and employees to adhere to the Data Protection Act and enlightened security practices, says The Security Company in a new report published at: http://www.thesecurityco.com/news/expert-comment/byod-a-time-bomb-waiting-to-happen/

“There is a huge push from within organisations for access to the latest smartphones and tablets ,” says Bernadette Palmer of The Security Company. “But the consequences of data compromise can be substantial from a financial and, perhaps more significantly, a reputational perspective.”
