Manchester Security 2014

by Mark Rowe

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) is encouraging potential exhibitors to register for stand space for Manchester Security 2014, with only five exhibition stands remaining.

Delegates set to attend the event include high-profile organisations, retailers and household names, as well as police forces and local authorities. Those already registered to attend include: Amey, AXA Insurance, BBC, Britannia Hotels, British Transport Police, Estee Lauder, Iceland Foods, Marks and Spencer, Manchester City Council, NCP, Royal Military Police, Selfridges, The Co-Operative Group, The University of Manchester and Wigan Council.

In its 20th year this year, the Manchester Security event is organised by the BSIA with the Manchester City Centre Crime Prevention Panel and Greater Manchester Police, and has become a must-attend for the North West’s wider business community. The event, sponsored by Associated Security Solutions Ltd, will run at the same venue as in 2013, the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester city centre on Thursday, March 6, and features a range of speakers including Tony Lloyd, Police and Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester, speaking about his role and its links with local businesses.

Last year’s event drew a record number of over 300 delegates, with attendees including representatives of city-centre retailers Primark, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Urban Outfitters, as well as other organisations including insurers, healthcare practitioners and local authorities. In a post-event survey, 95pc of exhibitors felt that participating in the exhibition represented value for money for their business, while rating the quality of attendees as good / excellent.

For security companies wishing to showcase their products and services to this wide range of North-West based businesses, stand space is available at £695 plus VAT. Exhibitors are allocated a 3m x 2m area, with access to a power supply and the opportunity to distribute their literature in delegate packs, handed out on the day. Exhibitors can book stand space by downloading a booking form from the BSIA’s website: http://bit.ly/KvcUlV. Or, more information can be obtained by contacting the BSIA’s Events Manager, Christine Brooks, on [email protected] or by calling 0845 389 0743.
