Manchester meet

by Mark Rowe

Exhibition space is now available to book for Manchester’s spring security exhibition and conference, at Bridgewater Hall on Thursday, March 26. The theme for 2015 is Protecting the Vulnerable. Speakers confirmed for the day include:

Detective Inspector Debbie Oakes from Greater Manchester Police’s Project Phoenix, a multi-agency team focused on child protection
Jayne Horan, Service Manager for Protect and the Integrated Gang Management Unit at Manchester City Council; and
Detective Superintendent Tony Mole from the North West Counter Terror Unit.

Organised by the trade body the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) with the Manchester City Centre Crime Prevention Panel, Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Police, the event is for the North West’s wider business community. Those attending in previous years include major retailers, local authorities and entertainment venues. Last year’s event attracted a record 250 delegates, including representatives of well-known city-centre businesses such as Selfridges, Thistle Hotels and the Post Office, besides insurers, healthcare practitioners and local authorities.

For security companies wishing to showcase their products and services to a range of North-West based businesses, as well as representatives from local Police forces, stand space is available from £795 plus VAT. This includes a 3m x 2m stand space including a table and electrical socket, breakfast roll and buffet lunch for two. All exhibitors will receive a copy of the delegate / visitor list following the event, and will be featured in the programme on the day. Exhibitors can book stand space by downloading a booking form from the BSIA’s website, www.bsia.co.uk/events.

Or, contact Sharon Walsh at the BSIA on 07976 695752 or by email at [email protected]; visit www.bsia.co.uk.
