DSEI showcase

by Mark Rowe

OPTIMA Defence & Security Group Ltd is to showcase its Counter-Threat work at DSEI 2013, the defence and security exhibition at London ExCeL.

Keith Hammond, Managing Director, says: “There is no doubt that security threat levels are increasing on a global scale. As the nature of threat constantly evolves, the industry faces a huge challenge – to consistently think ahead of the threat, develop new counter measures and train people to be vigilant and aware of the potential threats around them.

“This is where OPTIMA comes in. Our ex-British Army specialists stay current on the latest evolving threats and use their own operational experience to give the best counter threat-advice and training.”

Recently the company has designed and delivered training to soldiers in Afghanistan – the first UK contractor to design and deliver Counter-IED and Search training for the UK MoD. This initiative was recognised as the ‘Best Counter IED/Successful Deployment Initiative’ at this year’s Counter Terror Expo Excellence Awards as part of CT Expo in April.

Keith adds: “DSEI is an exciting opportunity for us. It’s a chance for us to meet face-to-face with customers and industry leaders, to tell them more about what we do and the benefits we can bring to their organisation. “

OPTIMA are exhibiting on stand S4-442 the UK Pavilion. Representing OPTIMA, Major-General Jonathan Shaw CB CBE will present on the synergies between civilian and military counter-threat measures at the Land Theatre on Thursday 12th September at 3pm. For further information visit www.optimagroup.co
