Chartered Newcastle meet

by Mark Rowe

No matter what stage you are at in your journey as a security manager, the quarterly meeting for the Register of Chartered Security Professionals and guests is a time to hear speakers on a range of topical subjects, while networking with fellow professionals in security. The next meeting is on The Thistle Hotel, Neville Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 5DF – over the road from the railway station. You don’t have to be a CSyP or an applicant to attend – this event is open to everyone in the security sector.

Hear guest speaker Dr Jeroen Gunning of Durham University share his experiences, alongside other speakers to be announced nearer the time. Briefly, Dr Gunning is a Reader in Middle East Politics, and Conflict Studies; and founding Director, Durham Global Security Institute for Defence, Development and Diplomacy (DGSi).

There will be an update on the latest to do with the Register as well as opportunities to learn more about it, what is involved to apply, and hear from those that have already gone through the application and interview. The event will conclude with networking drinks, canapés and the chance to network with CSyPs and guests.

Event sponsors are the north east based installer 2020 Vision; and the product distributor Mayflex. Visit the Security Institute website for details – https://www.security-institute.org/events/2511_csyp_quarterly_meeting
