Business crime date

Northampton is the venue for the National Association of Business Crime Partnerships (NABCP) 2017 conference, on Thursday, April 6.

Of the invited speakers, Rebecca Molloy from Ashford business crime reduction partnership (BCRP) in Kent is due to talk about civil injunctions and CBOs (Criminal Behaviour Orders, the present Conservative UK Government’s replacement for the Labour Government of the 2000s’ ASBOs); consultant Christine Graham, will discuss how to manage anti-social behaviour; and Georgina Barnard, Head of Crime Reduction and Partnerships at the Metropolitan Police, will go over the new national business crime hub.

After lunch, Steve Lang, of Northampton business crime partnership, will describe the county’s work. To close the day, Shanaaz Carroll, Chief Executive of the Association of Town and City Managers (ATCM) will cover BIDs (Business Improvement Districts), the Purple Flag accreditation scheme, and working with BCRPs.

Northamptonshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Andy Frost is due to open the conference at 10.30am; registration at Park Inn Hotel, on Silver Street in the county town, NN1 2TA is from 10am. The retired former senior policeman Allyn Thomas, Chairman of NABCP, will give a progress report on the association
