Belfast conference

by Mark Rowe

Retailers Against Crime (RAC) are holding an autumn conference at Belfast City Hall, on September 23.

RAC (pictured) featured in our March 2015 print issue. Briefly, the Stirling-based member body circulates information to members, typically retailers, and police forces throughout the UK. RAC highlights threats associated with travelling teams and individuals who impact on the profitability of businesses, resulting in offenders being identified, deterred and in many cases arrested. The event will include sessions on cybercrime, methods used by criminals, conflict management, internal fraud, nationwide intelligence and information will be available on bank-notes and plastic card crime. The purpose of the event is to reduce the opportunity for criminal activity through front line education and awareness by expert speakers. The event will also focus on consistent partnership working and information sharing which is key to the success of RAC.

There will be no delegate fee. Registration from 9am. Conference ends at 1pm. There will also be a guided tour of City Hall after lunch at 1.30pm. Speaker details nearer the time.
