B-Sides London

by Mark Rowe

Security B-Sides London, the information security event, has confirmed the line up of speakers for its fifth annual event on Wednesday, June 3 at the ILEC Conference Centre, Earls Court, west London. The event includes speakers (as usual, voted on by the ticket holders) from MWR InfoSecurity, Tenable Network Security, KPMG, ContextIS, Digital Assurance and Malwarebytes amongst many others. Subjects range from breaking into high security networks, vulnerabilities in e-banking and point-of-sale systems, identifying attackers using exploit kits to stress and burnout in the cyber security industry.

Doors to the event open at 8.30am with the keynote speech at 9am. Paul Batson, one of the organisers, said: It’s our fifth year and we think it will be the best one yet. We have changed venue this year but the basis of how BSides works stays the same. We have talks and workshops from both experienced industry professionals and newcomers to infosec – all decided on by the people coming to the event. We are really proud of the way that BSides London runs as a free and community driven conference to bring together anyone passionate about infosec from all over the UK and even further afield.”

The conference keynote will be given by Wendy Nather, the Research Director for Enterprise Security Practice at 451 Research. She will present a talk entitled “How Google turned me into my mother: the proxy paradox in security.”

“The event is only made possible through the generosity of our sponsors; companies that support and really understand our community such as Tenable Network Security and KPMG.”
