ASIS UK spring date

by Mark Rowe

The first quarterly meeting of 2016 by the UK chapter of the US-based security management body ASIS is on Wednesday, March 9 in London. The host is the audit firm PwC, at their 7 More London Riverside offices, SE1 2RT. It’s also the first meeting proper as UK chairman for Dave Clark, pictured, Head of Security for the Francis Crick Institute, who as reported in our January 2016 print issue has taken over as chair from Andy Williams.

Like other ASIS quarterly meetings, this one begins at 2.30pm and ends around 6pm with networking and a drink.

Speakers are Richard Godden, a partner in the law firm Linklaters, on ‘defence of the rule of law’; Damian Taylor of Ten Risk Management, on the implications for businesses of the new travel risk standard; and City of London Commander Chris Greany, the National Coordinator Economic Crime, speaking on counter-fraud.

New members can join ASIS here: https://www.asisonline.org/Membership/join/Pages/default.aspx.

Other dates

Separately, ASIS also plans on March 11 a breakfast meeting in Lisburn, Northern Ireland; and from April 6 to 8 ASIS UK is running the 15th ASIS European Conference and Exhibition, at the Business Design Centre, Islington.
