ASIS talks in London

Caveat Viator! – the risks facing business travellers and their employers is a talk by Rob Newman, Senior Group Security Assessor at Johnson Matthey PLC, at the 15th ASIS Europe conference in London from April 6 to 8.

Among other UK speakers, Prof Martin Gill is chairing a panel on low margins in the manned guarding sector; he will also speak on recent research on the value of security, arguing that security has been under-sold by its practitioners.

The recruitment consultants Mike Hurst and Graham Bassett are doing another double act, after their talk at the 2015 conference in Frankfurt, speaking this time about nudge theory; ‘using Behavioural Economics to Enhance Personal Development and Influence Decision Making’; speaking on corporate security are Corin Dennison CPP, Director (Global Investigations), Adidas Group, and Andy Martin, Retail, Business Development Manager, Axis Communications.

Martin Smith, Chairman and Founder of the information security awareness consultancy The Security Company, is talking on the insider threat. Robert Hall, Director of Security and Resilience Network, at the business body London First, will discuss organisational resilience.
