ASIS Europe 2018, the annual event by the European arm of the ASIS International membership group for security managers, returns to The Hague, the Dutch capital. The 2018 conference and exhibition will run from April 18 to 20, on the theme “Blurred Boundaries – Clear Risks”.
Under the conference chair, Eduard Emde, CPP, CISSP, the conference will look at securing connected enterprises in the era of IoT, with a focus on the role of big data and artificial intelligence, while providing up-to-date risk outlooks, case studies, and the full range of key security management issues.
Emde says: “Through the blurring of boundaries, security and risk aspects become more diffuse, more complex and unpredictable. This event is designed to help security professionals know how risks can be assessed and acted on effectively – not in disclaimers or legal arrangements but by having the actual risk owner and users make informed decisions.”
The event website www.asiseurope.org has already been updated with an outline of the programme and an initial group of speakers and panelists. Three masterclasses will provide attendees “deep dives” into some of the emerging challenges facing security practitioners.
The “From Risk to Resilience” event format launched in Milan in March 2017 will be repeated, with its mix of conference, training, technology and solutions, exhibition, and career centre.
As Radek Havlis, CPP, regional security director, Central and Eastern Europe for PwC and member of the ASIS Board of Directors, said after this year’s edition: “Given the various formats it offered, the increased interaction amongst participants, and, most importantly, its cyber-physical focus, ASIS Europe 2017 was not just another event but a true learning experience. I look forward to seeing it evolve into the annual European security event to attend, as clearly, nobody else covers such a span and in such a professional way.”

Registration will open in mid-September with an initial special early rate (available until 15 November) for ASIS Members of just €695 for the conference including President’s Reception.
