ST15 Heathrow

by Mark Rowe

At Professional Security we are looking ahead, MD Roy Cooper writes, to the final ST15 conference-exhibition of the year, and then we go on to ST16, naturally!

As ever your lady to email or speak to if you would like to attend is Liz Lloyd – [email protected]. You don’t have to – you can just turn up – but please do say if you are attending, so that we can tell the caterers better how many to cater for – yes, there’s bacon butties if you turn up before 9am, and a buffet lunch!

I am told that the bookings at the hotel venue – the Park Inn at Heathrow, pictured, same as October 2014 – are nearly full, as is the dinner the evening before the conference-exhibition. I know a lot of events say that and you think – are they just saying that to tip us into booking? – but nearly full means nearly full. It’s always about full actually.

There are some places for the go-karting. That’s in the afternoon before the dinner. Actually you need the date, don’t you – the go-karts and dinner are on Tuesday, October 27, and ST15 Heathrow proper on the Wednesday, October 28.

All the details at the events part of our website.

As always, entry to the conference-exhibition is free, whether you are a consultant or specifier, security manager or installer, or anyone that wants to get updated on security products and services. And I must say there’s quite a strong line-up of speakers. Something for everyone among these:

– Prof Martin Gill of Perpetuity Research (his latest piece of research on security excellence will be digested in the November print magazine);
– new Security Industry Authority (SIA) Chief Executive Alan Clamp, who took over at the regulator in the summer you recall after Bill Butler retired;
– Indy Sall from the installer NG Bailey, no doubt talking about IP and convergence;
– Alex Carmichael from the SSAIB inspectorate;
– and Trevor Elliott and Sharon Mughal from the BSIA.

If you can’t make it, we’ll put our usual write-up and pictures in the December print magazine. But obviously you can only be pictured if you’re there!? Let’s just hope we have as fine weather for ST15 Heathrow as we did for the ST14 edition.
