MP visits recruitment consultants

by Mark Rowe

This year, Cento which is the parent company of two specialist recruitment consultancies: FSJ (www.fireandsecurityjobs.com) and LEJ (www.liftandescalatorjobs.com) celebrates its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, on February 18, Nicky Morgan, Conservative MP for Loughborough, visited Cento’s head office in the Leicestershire town to present a plaque and speak to the owners about the skills requirements of both sectors and how these can be met with government support for apprenticeship schemes.

In the past year the company has seen a 42pc growth in business and staff numbers increasing by 50pc. Cento expects the business to grow by 25pc in the next 12 months and employee growth is forecasted at 20pc. Cento also has an office in Glasgow.

Brett Ennals, CEO of Cento said: “The success of Cento is directly attributable to our company ethos that goes beyond simply filling vacancies, as we provide the latest market information and advice to both clients and candidates to ensure they maintain a competitive edge in a constantly evolving market. Achieving ISO9001 and ISO27001 respectively have contributed to this growth as they are fantastic accolades, representing the word’s most recognised quality management standard, and demonstrating that the international security best practices are being implemented.”

Nicky Morgan MP said: “Cento’s growth makes for a great success story. This unique recruitment consultancy has found jobs for over 2,000 people in the past ten years in the lift and escalators and fire and security sectors. After speaking with Cento, I’m now more aware of the skills shortages faced by these sectors and as a result would encourage companies to recruit apprentices and remind them the government is here is provide support.”
