API Holographics Announce £3 million Redevelopment of Salford Site

by msecadm4921

API Holographics is bucking the trend of manufacturing decline in the UK with exciting plans for further growth after announcing the £3m redevelopment of its high security site in Salford.

In addition to £1m being spent on new machinery and technology, the redevelopment will see the creation of an innovative design centre with stylish customer lounge and a general upgrade of the site.

API Holographics, Managing Director Stephen Clarke explains how this in particular will be key moving forward for the company:

“Security holographics is a highly complex technology and we need to stay at the forefront with constant innovation. This investment will ensure that we stay at the top of our game and can continue to provide our customers with the best possible integrated security solutions and excellent customer service. A major part of our success is due to working closely with our customers to create bespoke security solutions designed for their individual requirements. The design centre in particular is a very satisfying development because it will allow us to facilitate these relationships with our customers and improve our NPD processes to develop ever more sophisticated security solutions.”

With improvements to employee facilities and an updating of security also being carried out, the work has been split into two phases to ensure that manufacturing can continue at full capacity and customer lead times will not be effected. Phase one of the redevelopment is set to be completed in December 2012 with additional work then to be finished in 2013.

Clarke added:

“With so much negative news about British manufacturing being in decline, it is great to able to announce this investment which means that our home remains in Salford for the years to come. The investment will not only boost the local economy, UK manufacturing and provide jobs but also help us improve efficiency and provide the perfect platform for growth.”

Astor Universal was founded in Manchester in 1946 and first began holographic manufacturing in Salford in 1986 before API bought the company and took over operations in 1998.
