Access control card manufacturers HID introduce the newest products in the iCLASS product portfolio: the iCLASS RK40 read only contactless smart card reader with keypad; and the iCLASS RWK400 read/write contactless smart card reader with keypad. Using 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technology, the iCLASS RK40 and RWK400 use iCLASS technology for dual verification of identity. This is a solution that combines contactless smart card technology with the use of a PIN, the makers report. The 12-position keypad allows the user to combine a contactless card presentation and input of a personal identification number (PIN) to support dual authentication. The panel may also be configured to allow for single-factor authentication with just the use of either a card or a PIN.
